A great article talking about some things that are missing from the cold world of current websites. Some useful insight for the web developer.
As stated in my previous article, design is a form of art. Every famous artist placed a bit of themselves into all their images, creating a stunning composition and promoting a clear mood.
You have to do the same, and the argument: “Oh well I can’t do that with my clients site.” doesn’t hold up. Most famous artists are commissioned to do their work, portraits, murals and paintings in royal castles. Just like us they did their work for someone. And yet there they were placing their own opinion and soul into the art.
To not drag on too much into this ill cut straight to the point. You have to do the same, a successful work of art is the one that has a bit of you in it. I am not here what that bit is going to be, because [and prove me if I am wrong here] I am not you. In fact this is the “secret of design”, don’t forget that it is an art more than a science and make sure that you develop a page with your own personal touches.
